With half the nation's publication-wholesaling market, The News Group Canada operates in every province and territory, distributing to the many retail giants. THE NEWS GROUP CANADA, with headquarters in the Toronto area, has more than a 50% share of the Canadian market - serving customers coast to coast from British Columbia to Newfoundland, including Labrador, Northwest Territories and the Yukon. Last year the Group had record sales, rising more than 40% from the previous year, as new customers were signed, including such national retail giants as the Weston Group's Loblaws supermarkets, and the national Chapters chain of bookstores. Other major clients include Safeway, Overwaitea Foods, London Drugs, 7-Eleven, A&P, United Cigar Stores, Sobey's Inc. and Co-op. In the West, a new distribution facility opened in Vernon, British Columbia, and a new sales centre in Regina, Saskatchewan - additional infrastructure to service the growing number of new national accounts. The News Group Canada distributes more than 4,500 different magazines and 10,000 book titles. |
