Aid Going To "Doctors Without Borders"- 03/01/2010

Over $8000.00 was donated by employees in a company-wide fund-raising effort for the victims of the Haiti earthquake. The News Group company matched that amount dollar for dollar and all proceeds were sent to Doctors Without Borders. We thank all of the employees who gave so generously.  

The News Group Purchases Medialogix - 02/11/2010

We are pleased to announce our purchase of Medialogix, Canada’s largest and fastest growing specialty marketer of magazines and books.

Since 2005, we have owned a portion of the company in a joint venture, in the last few days, we have purchased all remaining shares of Media Logix Company Limited.

The company is based in  Toronto, Ontario, and we welcome all employees and the senior manager who will continue as lead executive, Glen Clark, Vice President & General Manager.

Glen has over 30 years experience in the magazine and book business, spending the last five in a leadership role with Medialogix. Glen will be based out of our Burlington facility, along with Bruce Prockter.

Major Canadian retailers we supply include Home Depot, Lowes, Staples, Canadian Tire, and a large number of Ontario Public Library locations.

PBAA Canada Well Attended - 08/20/2009

Just under One Hundred people attended the PBAA Canada event on August 19th in Toronto. Attendees from all levels of the Reading Category supply chain came together to discuss what the present landscape is and what the future may provide. Industry success stories were shared in an open forum that encouraged frank discussion of both the challenges and opportunities that this category provides.
